In with the same.

Lets burn the statist quo.

2008: This is the End

January 10, 2009

2008 has come to an end and what a disaster it was. An economy based on phony wealth and fiat money has begun to crumble before our eyes. What a joke this country has become. All we do is build bombs with borrowed, stolen, and/or printed money. The only place hiring is the FBI.

Anyway, Bob Higgs is much better at this, so read his blog post.

Israeli Aggression

January 5, 2009

With fervent support from the United States, government killers (or do I repeat myself?) in Israel are leading an all-out murderous rampage against innocent civilians in Gaza, most of whom are young men, women, and children. Will Savior Barack show a softer side in regards to the atrocities occuring in that region? (Hint: No.) The President of Change is in bed with the Israeli lobby just like the rest of Washington, so don’t expect any denunciations from his camp, despite the heinous one-sided killing spree.

Here’s an interview (surprisingly from the MSM) with a doctor in Gaza:

The Socialist Won and the National Socialist Lost

November 5, 2008

As Tom DiLorenzo calls them.

I’m amazed at how excited people are about this. As if we are going to enter some Golden Age of prosperity. More of the same. Misery ensues. The only positive is that the evil Republicans have been reduced to the laughing stock they truly are. Unfortunately, they are being replaced by evil Democrats. Ain’t democracy grand?

If You Vote

October 14, 2008

Voting is an endorsement of a candidate and his policies, plain and simple. Therefore, if you vote for either McCain or Obama in this election, you endorse:

  • Fascism, e.g. through nationalization of the banking industry.
  • Theft via inflation.
  • The destruction of the dollar.
  • The mass murder of innocents in the Middle East.
  • Committing soldiers to die over border disputes in the Caucasus (can you even find that on a map?).
  • Providing money and weapons to third-world dictators.
  • An American Empire with bases in 130 countries.
  • The state and the countless number of horrific acts it commits in our name every day.

These two candidates will only continue down the current path of ruin. A vote for either one is an endorsement of self-destruction.

Still Not a Dime’s Worth of Difference

October 2, 2008

I only watched the first half-hour or so of the VP debate, but in that short time, I noticed nothing significantly different between the two. Just arguments over trivialities. Anthony Gregory is blogging about it at the LRC blog. He lasted longer than I did.

As I’ve been saying all along, voting is pointless. Don’t let the Hollyweirdos tell you any differently.

Not a Dime’s Worth of Difference

September 27, 2008

After watching the presidential debate, I am perplexed. Do people really have a preference of one over the other? Is there really a discernible difference? Let’s go through some of the issues:

  • The bailout: McCain and Obama both support the bailout and will undoubtedly vote for it.
  • Spending: McCain brought up some immaterial $3 million earmark about bears, while Obama talked about closing tax loopholes for corporations (I still don’t know what these loopholes are).
  • Iraq: McCain will stay as long as it takes, while Obama wants to scale back on the number of “combat troops” and focus more on the war in Afghanistan. In other words, he wants to shift the focus from one failed war to another.
  • Iran: McCain talked tough. Obama talked tough. McCain opposes “preconditions” while Obama says we need “preparation” in talking with Ahmadinejad.
  • Russia: Both condemned the Bear’s “invasion” of Georgia (even though Georgia started the war).

Conclusion: Both candidates will increase spending, expand the Empire (until its inevitable collapse), and wreck the economy.

Armageddon

September 19, 2008

This is the end. We are “days away from a complete meltdown of our financial system.” It’s both sad and funny at the same time. Sad because everyone laughed off the constant warnings by people like Ron Paul and Peter Schiff. Funny because all of the hubristic actions of the Fed and the Treasury are blowing up in their faces. They actually believed nothing bad would happen by destroying the currency and meddling in the housing market. Or maybe they knew what would happen and didn’t care. Either way, I can’t help but laugh about it. As always, the laws of economics win out and the Austrian School is vindicated.

Unfortunately, the government will twist this whole mess as a failure of laissez-faire (even though this country hasn’t experienced anything of the sort since the 1800s), and the sheep will believe it. Obama or McCain will inherit an economy that is possibly worse than the Great Depression, and regardless of who is president, it will be more of the same: deficit spending, inflation, higher taxes, more regulation, etc.

Get ready for a wild ride. It’s only just beginning.

The Paul-Barr Situation

September 11, 2008

Yesterday, Ron Paul held a press conference with Ralph Nader, Chuck Baldwin and Cynthia McKinney and told everyone to reject the two-party system. Bob Barr ditched the event at the last second because he’s too good to be in the same room with other third-party candidates. This made Paul supporters very angry, leading the Lew Rockwell blog to finally attack Barr’s unlibertarian record (see here, here, here, and here). It’s unfortunate that it took an insult to their BFF Ron Paul before the LRC crowd denounced Barr as a neocon in disguise.

McCain’s Speech

September 5, 2008

Lew Rockwell nails it.

Update: I liked John McCain’s Orwellian advocation of peace and hatred of war. I especially liked this quote:

…We can’t turn a blind eye to aggression and international lawlessness that threatens the peace and stability of the world and the security of the American people.

At this point, I thought he was talking about the U.S. occupation of Iraq. Then I realized everything Amerika does is saintly and virtuous. Hence the chants “USA! USA!” and “Hero! Hero!” directed toward John McCain for his courageous act of dropping bombs on starving foreigners from the safety of his cockpit.

Expatriation is becoming a very attractive option these days.
