2008: This is the End

January 10, 2009

2008 has come to an end and what a disaster it was. An economy based on phony wealth and fiat money has begun to crumble before our eyes. What a joke this country has become. All we do is build bombs with borrowed, stolen, and/or printed money. The only place hiring is the FBI.

Anyway, Bob Higgs is much better at this, so read his blog post.

Israeli Aggression

January 5, 2009

With fervent support from the United States, government killers (or do I repeat myself?) in Israel are leading an all-out murderous rampage against innocent civilians in Gaza, most of whom are young men, women, and children. Will Savior Barack show a softer side in regards to the atrocities occuring in that region? (Hint: No.) The President of Change is in bed with the Israeli lobby just like the rest of Washington, so don’t expect any denunciations from his camp, despite the heinous one-sided killing spree.

Here’s an interview (surprisingly from the MSM) with a doctor in Gaza:

Still Not a Dime’s Worth of Difference

October 2, 2008

I only watched the first half-hour or so of the VP debate, but in that short time, I noticed nothing significantly different between the two. Just arguments over trivialities. Anthony Gregory is blogging about it at the LRC blog. He lasted longer than I did.

As I’ve been saying all along, voting is pointless. Don’t let the Hollyweirdos tell you any differently.

Not a Dime’s Worth of Difference

September 27, 2008

After watching the presidential debate, I am perplexed. Do people really have a preference of one over the other? Is there really a discernible difference? Let’s go through some of the issues:

  • The bailout: McCain and Obama both support the bailout and will undoubtedly vote for it.
  • Spending: McCain brought up some immaterial $3 million earmark about bears, while Obama talked about closing tax loopholes for corporations (I still don’t know what these loopholes are).
  • Iraq: McCain will stay as long as it takes, while Obama wants to scale back on the number of “combat troops” and focus more on the war in Afghanistan. In other words, he wants to shift the focus from one failed war to another.
  • Iran: McCain talked tough. Obama talked tough. McCain opposes “preconditions” while Obama says we need “preparation” in talking with Ahmadinejad.
  • Russia: Both condemned the Bear’s “invasion” of Georgia (even though Georgia started the war).

Conclusion: Both candidates will increase spending, expand the Empire (until its inevitable collapse), and wreck the economy.

We All Scream for Lower Ice Cream Prices!

July 23, 2008

I was eating store-bought ice cream earlier and realized that not only are prices rising, but the container is also getting smaller. Many name brands are now sold in 1.5 quart containers. Back in the day ice cream was sold in half gallon containers, and a few years ago they made the change to 1.75 quarts. Now, it’s down to 1.5 quarts.

First Big Pharma and Big Oil, now Big Ice Cream! I urge you to write your Congressman and demand they pass a windfall profits tax on ice cream companies before the August recess.

(End sarcasm)

Introduce a Little Anarchy

July 23, 2008

The Dark Knight is probably the best comic book movie I’ve ever seen and one of the best crime dramas I’ve ever seen. I am not really a fan of comic books, but this movie existed on its own as a cinematic masterpiece.

While both libertarian and neoconservative interpretations exist for this movie, I was in too much awe to really contemplate the underlying meaning, although as a libertarian I am more inclined to accept the former. All I can say right now is go see the movie.

The Difference Between McCain and Obama

July 15, 2008

McCain: Iraq is the central front in the War on Terror.

Obama: Afghanistan is the central front in the War on Terror.

I love democracy!
